IPAM365 Discovery

Scheduled network Discovery, connected to your IP inventory.

Identify addresses that respond during scheduled Discovery runs across configured IPv4 subnets, then review those observations alongside the inventory your team manages.

Keep the record useful

Network documentation changes as the network changes.

Devices appear and disappear. Assignments evolve. Inventory becomes less useful when recorded addressing and observed network activity are separated.

IPAM365 brings scheduled observations into the same product experience as the address inventory, giving teams more context for review and follow-up.

How it works

From configured scope to informed IPAM.

A straightforward five-step workflow keeps the Discovery process understandable.

Configure networks

Select the IPv4 networks and subnets you want to check.

Install the Collector

Run the IPAM365 Collector inside the customer network.

Run scheduled Discovery

Check the configured scope during scheduled runs.

Review observations

Compare responding addresses with IPAM inventory context.

Manage addresses

Update and maintain authoritative records in IPAM365.

Collector

Discovery begins inside your network.

The IPAM365 Collector runs inside the customer's network and performs Discovery against the configured scope. It connects to IPAM365 using dedicated credentials so observations can be presented with the relevant IPAM context.

Scope and cadence

A recurring view of configured IPv4 networks.

Keep the capability boundary clear: Discovery provides scheduled observation across the network scope you configure.

Scheduled runs

Discovery runs on a scheduled basis, giving you a recurring view of addresses observed across your configured networks.

Configured IPv4 subnets

Choose the IPv4 networks and subnets that belong in scope, then keep that scope aligned with your operating needs.

Responding addresses

Review which addresses responded during a run and place that observation beside the corresponding IPAM context.

Inventory reconciliation

Observation and inventory are related—not interchangeable.

A network observation tells you that an address responded during a scheduled run. An IPAM record describes how your organisation manages that address.

Discovery observations add context. They do not automatically change the authoritative allocation state recorded in IPAM365.

Network observation

An address responded in the configured scope during a scheduled run.

IPAM inventory

An address is Available, Reserved, or Used according to the managed record.

Review together

Use observed activity to investigate differences and add operational context.

Manage deliberately

Keep authoritative allocation decisions under the team's control.

Scheduled observation

Useful context, on a predictable cycle.

IPAM365 Discovery is designed to provide recurring network observations for review beside managed inventory. It keeps the product focused on understanding and maintaining address records.

Connect scheduled observations to your IP inventory.

Bring network context and structured IP management into the same workspace.
